The wave of coaches in the 2nd league does not subside. After the quake with ascent aspirant 1. FC Köln, the coach of Greuther Fürth must now go.
A few hours after Gerhard Struber at 1. FC Köln, the next coach in the 2nd Bundesliga caught it. Greuther Fürth separates one day after the 0-1 defeat at Hertha BSC and two game days before the end of the season from chief coach Jan Siewert. This was reported by the Franks on Monday evening. Anyone who will be the successor has not yet been announced.
The Fürther recently remained eight games in a row without victory, including three defeats in a row. The lead over Relegation Platz 16 is only three points left.
Sports director Stephan Fürstner said: “We decided on this difficult decision to give the team a new impulse in the final sprint of the season. Jan has put a lot of energy in us in the past few months and helped a lot to help us to stay in our own hands. Unfortunately, we have not been able to take the last step in the past few weeks.”
Siewert in a club statement: “I am further convinced that the cloverleaf will hold the class and keep my fingers crossed for the team, staff and everyone around it.”
The 42-year-old had only taken over the office of Alexander Zorniger in November. In 20 games under the direction of the former Mainz coach, only six victories were lost, ten games were lost.
In the last two games of the season, the cloverleaf competes near Hannover 96 and at home against Hamburger SV.
