The Berlin resale specialist Momox is getting a new boss. Claudia Frese was appointed CEO of Momox SE and Momox Holding SE with effect from November 16, the operating company of trading platforms such as Momox and Medimops announced on Thursday. The 54-year-old succeeds Heiner Kroke, who has led the company since 2013.
According to her future employer, Frese brings “many years of management experience in the technology and digital economy.” Over the course of her career, she held senior positions at well-known companies such as Ebay, MyHammer, Strato and Ionos.
Dominik Schwarz, the deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Momox and partner at the financial investor Verdane, which holds the majority in Momox, explained the personnel decision: “With Claudia Frese, we have been able to gain an extremely experienced, empathetic and performance-oriented manager for Momox who, together with our strong senior management team, will realize the company’s full growth potential,” he explained in a statement.
Heiner Kroke is leaving the company after twelve successful years
The company also recognized the achievements of the outgoing CEO. Under Kroke’s leadership, Momox has “developed into the European market leader in re-commerce over the past twelve years,” it said in a statement. Between 2012 and 2024, sales increased from 58 to 377 million euros. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) recently reached 36 million euros. Kroke’s most important strategic decisions included “the successful introduction of Momox Fashion, consistent internationalization and the expansion of high-performance logistics locations in Leipzig and Stettin”.
“I would like to thank Heiner Kroke for the extremely good, intensive and personal cooperation over the last five years,” explained Supervisory Board Chairman Thomas Daughtermann. “He shaped the company in a crucial phase and set the strategic direction for further growth.”
