Charles Leclerc, winner in Bahrain, second in Saudi Arabia and again winner in Australia, maintains the leadership of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship despite being defeated against Max Verstappen in the sprint race held in Imola. The Dutchman has added eight points for his victory in the sprint format and secures the first position on the grid for the main race this Sunday, in which he aspires to continue closing the gap with Leclerc. Carlos Sainzwho climbed to the podium in the first two races and gave up second place in the championship after his abandonment in Albert Park, has regained it this Saturday in Italy.

Despite the obvious bad moment of Mercedes George Russell ranks third in the championship, ahead of the two Red Bull drivers, Perez and Verstappen.
