Arminia Bielefeld is sensational in the final around the DFB Cup. A gigantic statue should serve as support and is now newly dressed.
Second division promoted Arminia Bielefeld is in the DFB Cup final for the first time-and the euphoria has also arrived in the Teutoburg Forest. The club has set a visible sign with a symbolic act: In the run -up to the final against VfB Stuttgart, the Hermannsdemmal received an oversized jersey of the association.
The statue, which is considered a memory of the Cheruser Prince Arminius and rises not far from Detmold, was equipped according to Arminia’s main sponsor Schüco ten days before the final.
The unusual commitment on the more than 26 meter high monument is not only a media -effective appearance, but is also to be understood as public support for the team of coach Mitch Kniat.
The Bielefelders prevailed against higher -class opponents in all rounds. The departure of the defending champion Bayer Leverkusen – Arminia was particularly sensational – the favorite team in the semi -finals threw 2-1 out of the competition.
