Circle of friends De Rijten has won the Brabantsedag 2023, the organization announced on Sunday evening. The construction group won the general classification with ‘The origin of everything’. The construction group also won the press award.
The car revolved around priest and scientist Georges Lemaître. He is the founder of the big bang theory. Everything that ever came into existence, according to Lemaître, must have come from a primordial atom. A small part that is the beginning of everything. Or does the origin of everything lie with God?
On the chariot you saw a priest surrounded by a kind of big bang. From his brain everything explodes. The audience was short of eyes to see the spectacle. De Rijten also won the general classification last year.

This year’s audience award went to ‘Ge Wit ‘T Oit Noit Nie’ with ‘The clarification under water’, about the invention of the underwater camera.
Brilliant inventors
The Brabantsedag Heeze is about the past of the Duchy of Brabant, to which part of Belgium fell centuries ago. This year everything revolved around the theme ‘Eureka!’, or ‘I got it!’. A saying that refers to brilliant inventors and groundbreaking inventions.
The sixteen wagon builder groups created a total theater around an invention by a man from Brabant or a discovery in (Dutch or Flemish) Brabant. This year, a subject could be chosen up to and including 1973. Previously, the period (1183-1795) of the Duchy of Brabant was always used.
More than 40,000 people enjoyed the spectacular theatrical procession in Heeze on Sunday afternoon. House-high cars passed through the center. The rain at the start could not harm the public and the participants.
