Christine collects ‘old’ breast prostheses for fellow sufferers: “You donate a part of yourself or a loved one. Sometimes that is difficult”

‘Wanted: breast prostheses, in all sizes and weights’. This striking appeal is made by Christine Van der heyden (47), a lecturer and researcher at HOGENT, and a breast cancer patient. She hopes to fly with three suitcases full to Ecuador next week, where her fellow sufferers have hardly anything available. “I can’t distance myself from my own prosthesis yet, that feels too early.”
