Artist Chisu’s father, a former soccer player Gary Sundberg is dead. He was 81 years old when he died. Sundberg played as a forward for HIFK in the 1960s. After this, he has been active in the club’s organizational activities.

Chisu writes about it on her own Instagram account.

In the touching text, the artist goes through his father’s life.

– The father of me and my four brothers passed away last night. In addition to us, he was missed by his life partner and family, grandchildren, relatives and many friends. He was an inspiration to many and his creativity in the business world and his eye for the game in HIFK’s football club, first as a player and later as honorary chairman, was, so to speak, NEXT LEVEL, Chisu writes.

Chisu describes Sundberg as an “adventure”. In the text, he recalls his father’s stories, teachings and how he bought too much ice cream.

Chisu is currently performing his farewell concerts at Helsinki’s Tavastia concert club. After the tour, Chisu’s stage name will be “frozen” and she will not be seen performing under that stage name.

Chisu says that Wednesday’s concert was particularly challenging to perform. He thanks the viewers and his background team for their support in a difficult moment.

– I didn’t want to cancel, because I know that Pappe/Gary/Faija would have said “Chisu, don’t stress – when I die, you’ll have a BIG party”. And today we were held. I dedicated and will dedicate tonight’s gig to dad – of course, Chisu states.

During the gig, various videos from over the years will be shown. Chisu says that the childhood video clips were filmed by her father.

Chisu says that his father was watching the farewell concert on Monday. This was to be their last meeting.

– I didn’t have time to talk to him after that. That was our last meeting. What made it beautiful was that I could sing the last words to him to the rhythm of the song “Departure”, says Chisu.

At the end of the article, Chisu has published the lyrics of the song Lähtö.

“Oh dearest, this is a cold country

You can’t freeze your heart,

I would like to go with you

and close the evil eye,

but next to me,

I have to sun now turn away.

In the sky I sing the sun,

The moon in the sky,

Let my heart be your map,

your memories, your home.

I’ll wait for you there forever.”
