Children can get used to scanner thanks to counterfeit mini copy

The money was donated to the hospital by football club KVO. Students of ‘t Saam in Diksmuide have recreated the device in miniature.

Karoline Van Haelst, pedagogical employee AZ Damiaan: “Children have a lot of fear and stress. We try to limit the stress and anxiety in the children and the parents. These tests already cause stress in advance, before the children come to the hospital An image of a big machine. Arnoud Stockman, radiologist AZ Damiaan: “Children are sometimes very frightened and it sometimes takes a long time before they are on the scan. They sometimes move during the scan, which means that we see incorrect artificial distortions during the scan. That is not the intention .”

Other hospitals are also working on child-friendliness and have a similar device to prepare children and parents for an examination. Special here are the lights and the sound.
