Someone small wanted to make big money!

In a bank in the Hanover region, a nine to ten-year-old child tried to extort money on Wednesday morning. The suspect or suspects entered the branch on Hänselriede around 11.40 a.m. with a light blue surgical mask and a trolley case and demanded cash from the employees.

To back up his claim, the child threatened to commit an act of violence. Moments later, the child walked straight out of the store with no loot, leaving the dark trolley suitcase behind. The bank employees fled to safety.

After the police arrived, specialists opened the suitcase and were able to give the all-clear. There were no dangerous objects in the suitcase.

However, an immediately initiated search for the boy or girl was unsuccessful.

Now the police are looking for evidence of a child about 1.20 meters to 1.30 meters tall. She is investigating serious extortion robbery.

The young robber was dressed in a black jacket with a hood and orange lining and black trousers. The child also wore black shoes, white socks and black gloves with reflective stripes. A gray and white children’s hat with a reindeer motif was particularly striking.

Anyone who has information about the child with a suitcase or made observations near the scene of the crime in the midday hours is asked to call 0511 109-5555.
