The Kansas City Chiefs missed the NFL playoffs for the first time in ten years and no longer have a chance of a third Super Bowl victory within four years. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn cruciate ligament.
The Chiefs lost to the Los Angeles Chargers at home 13:16 and suffered their eighth defeat in the 14th game of the season. Because the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills won their games, the Chiefs no longer have a chance of participating in the playoffs.
