The entire corps responds reports to the sudden death. Yves Rotty, born and raised Bruggeling, was head of the Bruges police in 2023. He had already had a career of more than 30 years, as chief commissioner and director of operations. A career that started before the unification of the police and the government and ran, both in Euro 2000 and about the responsibility for all district inspectors, until he became chief of police in the summer of 2023. A man who knew the functioning of the corps, inside and out. But who – unlike his predecessor Dirk Van Nuffel – would rather stay in the shelter.
The police zone wishes his daughter, family, friends and all colleagues a lot of strength in this sudden death.
