André Breitenreiter came to Hannover 96 in December to climb – now he is gone again. Martin Kind is annoyed violently.
Martin Kind, head of the supervisory board and long-time club boss of Hannover 96, considers the return of coach André Breitenreiter to be a mistake afterwards. “The opinion was of all those responsible: we have to have new impulses. It has not been confirmed,” said the 80 -year -old entrepreneur of the “new press”.
It annoyed him “that we lost a whole year again and have to stand up completely again,” said Kind. “We just have to become more professional, that has become very clear to me.”
In December, the 96s separated from their coach Stefan Leitl – and brought Breitenreiter back. But the plan failed. After a disappointing second half of the season and slipping to tenth place in the second division table, the 51-year-old had to go on Wednesday.
After the change of coaches again, the question of a suitable successor is now asking. Child confirmed that long-time 96 professional Steven Cherundolo (most recently Los Angeles FC) and the current Paderborn coach Lukas Kwasniok are one of the successor candidates. Kwasniok is “at the top of the list, that’s for sure. But to my level of information, he wants to go to the first division and not in the second division,” said the Supervisory Board chief.
In the last four season games, assistant coach Lars Barlemann, U19 coach Dirk Lottner and U17 coach Christian Schulz take care of the team.
