Cheating chess player Niemann loses libel case against Carlsen and Chess.com

The American chess prodigy Hans Niemann (20) lost the defamation case yesterday in which he claimed 100 million dollars (about 91.5 million euros) in damages from the Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen (32) and chess platform Chess.com. Niemann claimed they falsely accused him of foul play and spoke of “devastating reputational damage”. A federal judge in the US state of Missouri rejected his claim. Niemann’s lawyers revealed that the chess prodigy may be planning to file a new complaint with the state court.
