Chase Young is pleased about the trade to the San Francisco 49ers

Shortly before the trade deadline, the San Francisco 49ers strengthened their already good defensive line with pass rusher Chase Young. The NFL star was released from Washington for a third-round pick. Much to the delight of Young, who, among other things, meets an old friend in San Francisco.

Chase Young explained his reaction to the move that he was “not sad” when he first heard about his trade to the Niners. “I got here last week, just the culture, the vibe, it’s completely different. I know for a fact that I’m in a building with winners,” Young said of his first impression.

However, the second pick from 2020 is currently only partially right. After a furious 5-0 start, the 49ers have recently lost three games in a row and now only have a record of 5-3. Last weekend, however, with Young as a new signing, they could press the much-quoted reset button, after all they had a bye week in Week 9.

NFL: Young and Bosa reunited

In the Bay Area, Chase Young meets an old acquaintance. Young played with Nick Bosa at Ohio State and made life hell for opposing quarterbacks. “Nick is here, he was always like a big brother to me,” says Young, looking forward to the reunion.

Just five minutes after the trade was confirmed, Bosa contacted his new teammate and expressed his joy about the move.

The pass rushers thought it unlikely that the two would play together again: “Even in college, we didn’t think we would ever play together again. I think now it will be like in college again, we race each other to get to the quarterback. It’s going to be fun, I know that,” Young gushed with anticipation.

However, how long the two will play together is still up in the air. Young only has a contract until the end of the season, Washington let his fifth-year option expire, which means Young will become a free agent in March if he does not agree on a new contract. However, that shouldn’t be an issue for the time being. The first step is to get the Niners back on track.
