King Charles Gustav of Sweden commented on the death of Pope Francis. Hovi of Sweden published a statement on Kaarle Kustaa’s official Instagram account.

– The Queen and I remember Pope Francis with great respect and warmth. Thanks to his natural charisma, deep humility and the undeclared defending of human dignity, the Pope was a major leader.

The Pope visited Sweden in 2016. In his writing, the King recalls how the Lutheran and Catholic Church met at that time and left historical conflicts behind. Charles Gustav and Silvia also met the Pope several times in the Vatican.
