Chantal Janzen is still far from being a TV queen: ‘Viewing figures crashed!’

Chantal Janzen gets another big blow. While her persistently low ratings have been a topic of conversation for a long time, her show Beat the Champions is now also collapsing. “This is a crash.”

It is evident that Linda de Mol can no longer call herself a TV queen with her battered image and bitter behavior, but in terms of viewing figures she still plays her alleged successor Chantal Janzen home. In fact, Chantal is now just falling straight into the viewing abyss with her program Beat the Champions.

Chantal scores badly

In view of her enormous number of TV flops, it is striking that Chantal is still being hoisted up on the shield. Janzen & Van Dijk, &Chantal, Chantal Comes to Work, Do It Yourself, Chantal’s Pyjama Party and Chantal’s Beauty Camper: all TV flops. She just doesn’t score well enough to join the TV nobility.

And now Beat the Champions is also threatening to join that list. Whereas Linda’s Miljoenenjacht scored 1.4 million viewers (24 percent market share) on SBS 6 yesterday, Chantal’s game show had to settle for 561 thousand viewers (10 percent) on RTL 4. That is not enough for a place in the viewing figure top 15.

Rating crash

Viewing figure prophet Tina Nijkamp is regularly shocked, but now she is really perplexed. “Huh? How is this possible? Quite a shock for Chantal Janzen. Beat the Champions crashes completely and has only 561 thousand viewers and is only eighteenth. And is also a record low. In the target group aged 20 to 54 also moderate with 12.6 percent.”

Bizarre, she thinks. She writes on her ratings juice channel: “Exactly one year ago, Beat the Champions still had 808 thousand viewers and last week the VIP version had 883 thousand viewers. Where does this drop of no less than 300 thousand viewers come from?”

Too many quizzes

Ah, that makes a difference: Tina also has the answer ready. “The extra competition from football at eight o’clock, Feyenoord-Volendam with 656 thousand viewers on ESPN, does not help. But aren’t there too many quizzes in the RTL programming and too many episodes in the year of Beat the Champions?”

After Chantal, Humberto did not get far on Sunday either: 534 thousand people watched it (12 percent). And that means that Sunday evening only has one big winner: SBS 6. After Miljoenenjacht, Wendy van Dijk’s Wie van de Drie also did an excellent job with 984 thousand viewers (20 percent).

And NPO 1, on average the largest channel in the country? That scored well with De Nieuwe Vermeer (898 thousand), Studio Voetbal (693 thousand) and Pauws Election Debate (979 thousand).
