PSV and the municipality of Eindhoven submitted a request to UEFA on Thursday to play the next game in the Champions League on Wednesday 5 March. The club and the municipality fear problems with the police deployment around Carnival.

It is not yet certain whether the game will be played on Wednesday 5 March or on Carnival Dins Day on March 4. Both PSV and the municipality of Eindhoven have submitted a request to UEFA to preferably play at home on Wednesday.

PSV awaits a new opponent for a place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League: Arsenal or Inter Milan.

Earlier also request
It is not the first time that the people of Eindhoven have submitted such a request to the football body. In 2007, UEFA did not respond to a request from the municipality to move the Champions League game between PSV and Arsenal from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Even then the reason was carnival. That duel finally ended in 1-0 for PSV.
