The season in the Champions Hockey League (CHL) is over for the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven.

The fourth-placed team in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) was beaten 2:5 (0:2, 2:1, 0:2) by top Finnish club Ilves Tampere in the second leg of the round of 16 on Wednesday and was eliminated; the North Germans had already lost their first duel at home the previous week (2:3).

Luke Henman brought Tampere ahead with a 5-3 advantage (4th), Erik Borg followed up (20th), before Miha Verlic (24th) and Alex Friesen (25th) equalized with a double strike. Borg gave the hosts the next lead with his second goal (40th), Jens Lööke made everything clear (53rd) and Matic Török increased the lead shortly before the end with a goal into the empty goal (57th).
