Chaletbouw Noord in Emmen has been declared bankrupt. The consequences of the problems at the builder of the chalets and what the future looks like for the seven employees is still unknown.

Ynze Talstra of TRIP advocaten has been appointed as curator. “We are still making an inventory, so we have not yet identified the size of the problem.”

According to the curator, it is therefore still too early to say anything about how many customers have been affected by the bankruptcy. “There is at least one known case where someone is still waiting for a chalet. Any other victims are still being inventoried,” says Talstra.

The chalet builder reports on its own website that it supplies holiday homes to various holiday parks throughout the country.

According to the curator, Chaletbouw Noord is still a fairly young company. “The company started in September last year after taking over an existing company. But production has now been halted for a while.” The problems are said to have arisen quite quickly after the takeover.

“The board indicates that the image of the acquired company is different than predicted and that is why the problems have arisen. The board says it has done everything it can to get things on track, but that has not been sufficiently successful,” explains curator Talstra.

He does not dare to say whether there is still a future for the company. “We are now looking at the possibilities. A restart would be very desirable, also to maintain employment, but only the future will tell.”
