Dender was a surprisingly strong starter in the competition last year, and was therefore able to stay out of the danger zone throughout the season. At Cercle they hope for a similar scenario, especially with heavy opponents such as Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Westerlo and Standard in prospect.
Cinel is clear about the ambitions: “We want to win every match, not only against Dender. Regardless of the opponent or the score, it must be clear to outsiders that we do everything we can to win. Certainly in this first phase of the season that is essential.”
