Cemetery experimented with the deceased in complete secrecy: ‘It should never have happened’

Secret experiments were carried out on remains at the Essenhof cemetery in Dordrecht for two years, while relatives knew nothing about it and there was no permit to open coffins. The aim of those experiments was to accelerate the decomposition process. This has been hampered for years due to poor ventilation in burial vaults.
