Cellar cracker between Telstar and Den Bosch has no winner

Telstar was unable to beat FC Den Bosch at home. The Velsen team got stuck at 0-0 against the Brabanders. Both teams gain nothing from the goalless draw.

The Velsen team played against FC Den Bosch without Mike Snoei. He was absent due to a throat infection, so assistant coach Ulrich Landvreugd did the honors. Snoei saw from the bench that the visitors had a great chance after three minutes. Jaron Vicario put away Kacper Korstorz. The Pole only went for goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr. but shot wide.

On the other hand, Telstar’s greatest opportunity came about by chance. Tom Overtoom took a corner and saw the ball hit the crossbar (due to the wind). The White Lions did not create any clear-cut opportunities before half-time. Shalva Ogbaidze forced Koeman into a save just before the end of the first half.

Entertaining second half

As boring as the first half was, the second was just as entertaining. Telstar had three chances in quick succession. Overtoom shot just wide, after which Danny Bakker’s header was cleared off the line. Christos Giousis (replacing the injured Zakaria Eddahchouri) was also close to the opening goal. The IJmuiden storm subsequently subsided.

Vieri Kotzebue and Korstorz should have tormented Telstar, but failed to do so. That kept it incredibly exciting. That tension led to a beautiful final phase. Still, it didn’t result in any goals, so the match ended as it started.

Telstar remains eighteenth in the first division with sixteen points. The Velsen team’s next opponent is MVV on next Friday. You can of course follow that match via NH Sport on NH Radio.
