The three, along with two other boys, are said to have distributed flyers about an activist who was on trial for vandalism. They put one of those flyers on a local FSB building. On the phones of the young people, the police found the plan to blow up the replica of the FSB office in Minecraft. According to police investigators, the youths also learned how to make explosives and tried them on abandoned buildings.
The three were arrested in the Siberian city of Kansk in the summer of 2020. They were then 14 years old. The three were initially suspected of participating in a terrorist organization, but the charges were downplayed due to a lack of evidence. The convicted boy told the judge that he is not a terrorist and that he will serve his sentence “with dignity and a clear conscience”. The two co-defendants are given suspended sentences for cooperating with the authorities.
Minecraft is a game in which players can collect building materials and make everything with them. It is also possible, for example, to make dynamite and blow up those structures.
