The coalition quarrel with the Greens over Friedrichstrasse turned into a disaster for the SPD in Mitte – the direct mandate in constituency 2 was lost to the CDU!

Not just any constituency – it runs right through Friedrichstrasse! Election winner Lucas Schaal (32) has lived around the corner for eight years.

About the blocking plans of Bettina Jarasch (54, Greens), Senator for Transport, he says: “It feels like a bad joke. People talk about piazzas and then plywood furniture is simply put out on the street. An overall concept is completely missing.”

Schaal was born in the Rhineland and moved to Berlin in 2012. He has a driver’s license but no car.
