Catherine Keyl (79) has also been a victim of the horny Latino singer Julio Iglesias (82) in the past, she says in an extensive interview with Shownieuws. “I had to sit on my lap.”
Julio Iglesias has recently been discredited because he was accused of sexual abuse. Two young women from the Dominican Republic alleged that the singer raped them in 2021 while they were working for him at his villas in the Caribbean. Julio has denied everything, but now Catherine Keyl has also come forward with a sensational story.
On my lap
What’s going on? “It is a fantastic story,” says Privé boss Evert Santegoeds Show news. “She met him, in a different time. She had a program in which Julio was a guest and she was simply told: sit on his lap beforehand, because then the conversation will be much better.”
Then the face of a Facetiming Catherine appears large on screen. “Everyone knew him and all the women fell for him,” she says. “So the man asked me before I interviewed him if he wanted to sit on my lap.”

Catherine states that this was not normal. “I’ve interviewed maybe 5,000 people or something, but that had never happened to me before. Haha.”
The Shownieuws voice-over then notes that their reporter has also been bothered by a flirty Julio. We see the singer on screen during an interview: “You’re not on screen? Why not? Does your boyfriend not want you on TV? Is he a bit jealous? So I can’t kiss you and keep you here?”
Two minutes
Back to Catherine: how long did she have to sit on Julio’s lap? “Let’s say: two minutes. He probably wouldn’t have kept me longer. Well, listen, it was a different time, right, maybe I wouldn’t do it anymore. Or maybe I would, because I’m much older now, but it doesn’t matter.”
She continues: “At first I thought: screw it, I’m not doing that, but then my producer said: ‘Yes, if you want the interview, you should just do it.’ So well, I did it, nothing major. It was just fun and he was joking. A very charming man, so nothing to worry about.”
Bram refuses
Bram Moszkowicz said he would refuse to sit on Julio’s lap. “I don’t think if I were a woman and I heard this from my producer, I wouldn’t sit on my lap. If you put that as a counter-condition, I think that’s ridiculous.”
Bram notes about that flirting with the Shownieuws reporter: “It is also easy in retrospect. If those accusations had not been there, you would have looked at it very differently.”
