There Bertazzoni family who have managed the Grand Hotel et de Milan for fifty yearsprestigious and graceful historic hotel which was the home of Giuseppe Verdi (and home to the iO Donna Eroine d’oggi literary prize) entrusted the gastronomic proposal to Gennaro Esposito, starred chef of Torre del Saracino in Vico Equense del Caruso Nuovo brought to the table byExecutive chef Francesco Potenza.
Tradition reinvented
The restyling of the venue has been entrusted to Dimorestudio which revived the historical details of columns, inlays and terrazzo floors, with a touch of glamour which enhanced its enveloping bohemian elegance, also thanks to spectacular ceiling lighting made of green bamboo chandeliers and floral print fabric.

Refrain of the whole operation was placing the new on the retro without betraying iton a common ground made of roots and traditions that first convinces Chef Esposito: «In my profession, forgetting one’s origins is a mortal sin, a gesture of pride that also precludes the possibility of future discoveries». Its menu, consistent with Milanfocuses on “good, fresh and satisfying” vegetables and is a tribute to the mother.

Daniela Bertazzoni, the tireless soul of this spectacular city lounge together with her daughters, is convinced that “a historic venue must not be moldy.
