A car caught fire in one of the parking spaces on Schutsplein in Hoogeveen this afternoon. Large flames were visible especially at the front of the car.
The fire brigade quickly arrived to extinguish the fire, but could not prevent the car from burning out. The police are investigating the cause of the fire, but arson has not been ruled out.
