With roaring engines and large clouds of black smoke, the participants competed one by one on the competition track.
The goal is simple: pull a heavy tow truck as far as possible. The further a tractor goes, the better the result. The ultimate achievement is a so-called full pullcovering the full distance.
Two years plagued by rain and mud
This edition felt like a relief for the organization. The weather has thrown a spanner in the works over the past two years.
“We have had to stop the competition for two years now, because otherwise the tractors would get stuck,” says organizer Liset van der Eijk.
In 2024, the organization tried to keep the track passable by excavating wet soil. “That didn’t make it any better in the end,” says Van der Eijk. “So we didn’t even try that again last year.”
The public also knows how to find their way again
Not only the participants benefit from the dry weather. According to the organization, the number of visitors is also clearly higher.
“It’s really great,” says Van der Eijk. “The turnout is good, the tractors are driving well. I have nothing to complain about.”
With full stands, dry tracks and tractors that could drive at full speed again, the event seems to be back again after two difficult years.
