Three men got into the water on Sunday evening in the center of Tilburg with their car in the canal along the Hoevense Kanaaldijk. That happened near the Oisterwijksebaan turning bridge. The occupants managed to get out of the vehicle on time and could reach the dry swimming. The car disappeared almost completely under water.

The three drove along the canal when they drove into the road and ended up in the water for unknown cause. The emergency services were quickly on the spot, they found that the men were soaked, but not injured.

The possible driver was under the influence of alcohol, a bladder test showed. He had to go to the desk. The other two left on foot in their soaking wet clothing. They had a suitcase and a bag with them, which they had managed to save from the car, just like a few cans of beer.

A recovery company will hoist the car from the water.
