The occupants of the car were standing at the ordering column of the McDonald’s on the Dolfijn in Enkhuizen around midnight when smoke suddenly came from the car. Not much later the car turned out to be on fire. The occupants were able to exit the vehicle safely and no one was injured.

Several fire engines were on site to extinguish the fire. Although the fire was quickly brought under control, it could not be prevented from completely engulfing the car in flames. Images of the damage show that little is left of the car.

Damage to ordering kiosks

The fire also severely damaged two ordering columns of the drive-through. It is not known whether motorists can still order food from the restaurant from their car today. It is also not clear how the fire in the car could have started.

A recovery company towed the burned vehicle away. It is not known whether the occupants were ultimately able to enjoy a late-night snack.
