A car caught fire at the A28 exit at Assen-Zuid at the end of the afternoon. When the emergency services arrived, the fire was raging fiercely, after which the fire brigade extinguished the flames.
The car must be considered lost and will be towed. The two occupants were able to get out of the car under their own power and were not injured.
The highway exit was temporarily closed due to the car fire.
