FC St. Pauli will again have to do without their captain Jackson Irvine. The 32-year-old Australian has problems with his left foot.
The FC St Pauli has announced another loss of captain Jackson Irvine. The Hamburg team announced that the 32-year-old Australian had again had problems with his left foot. Irvine underwent surgery on his left foot in April 2025. The midfielder then took a break for almost six months.
Irvine made its comeback in October. With the captain in central midfield, St. Pauli ended a series of nine Bundesliga defeats in a row at the beginning of December.
“Due to the problems that have now arisen, no further use will be possible for the time being. The further procedure is currently being coordinated between all those involved,” the club said in a statement. The exact duration of Irvine’s outage is still unknown.
On Wednesday evening (6.30 p.m.) FC St. Pauli, currently 16th in the table, will play away in a relegation duel against VfL Wolfsburg (14th). With a win, St. Pauli would move past the “Wolves”.
