A camper caught fire on the A28 between De Punt and Haren this evening. Due to the fire, the highway towards Groningen was temporarily completely closed.
The Eelde fire brigade arrived on site to extinguish the fire. Flames that were several meters high could be seen coming from the camper and, according to bystanders, loud bangs could be heard.
