In the night from Thursday to Friday, the police arrested two people in Boijl for spraying slogans on signs.
The action focused against the use of poison in bulb cultivation. The two campaigners, a man (34) from Stadskanaal and a woman (68) from Vlagtwedde, rode in a car and, according to the police, were among the yellow paint splashes.
Agents had previously seen that various signs were bothered with yellow paint in the municipalities of Westerveld and Weststellingwerf.
The man and woman are suspected of destruction, they have since been released again.
