The Dutch outdoor brand Gaastra is facing another restart. On Wednesday, the clothing group, Clinton Großhandels-GmbH based in Hoppegarten near Berlin, announced that he acquired the “long-term license rights” for Gaastra.

“With this strategic decision, the company strengthens its multi-brand strategy and expands its portfolio with one of the most renowned Heritage brands in the premium sports swear segment,” said Clinton. The group of Camp David, Soccx, Harlem Soul and Senses.the Label also includes the group of companies.

The relaunch of Gaastra should take place next spring

According to media reports, the Gaastra brand, which is primarily known for maritime sailing clothing, was hired after the bankruptcy of the then parent company Unlimited Footwear Group (UFG). Only two years earlier, the UFG had started the relaunch of Gaastra after the brand, founded in 1897, had already disappeared from the market.

Clinton has now announced another “official relaunch” of the label for spring 2026. Dima Shlyakhta, the Head of Wholesale at Clinton, explained the step. “With Gaastra, we not only gain a traditional sportswear brand, but also a strong emotional capital that is very well respected in retail as with consumers,” he said in a statement. “We are convinced that Gaastra optimally complements our brand portfolio and opens up new opportunities in national and international markets.”
