Camp Amersfoort commemorates horror of the Second World War: ‘It was worse than Vught, men were beaten, humiliated and called Schweinhund’

It is exactly eighty years since Camp Amersfoort, the concentration camp that has existed for the longest time of all the camps during the Second World War, was transferred to the Red Cross. In addition, the memory center was considered. “It happened in these places, here we can build the bridge between the past and the present,” says director Micha Bruinvels.
