In the World Cup final of the men’s 3,000-meter hurdles, early on Tuesday morning Finnish time, an incomprehensible blunder was seen.

An official TV cameraman stood in the middle of the track, even though the race was in progress. He focused on shooting straight ahead, and the runners coming from behind had to go around him. Some of the athletes looked at the photographer in surprise.

The mishap happened in the first round of the race. You can watch the video about the situation from here.

The case has surprised people on social media as well.

– During the men’s 3000m steeplechase final, the photographer in the middle of the track??? What the hell is going on over there? athletics coach Jussi Ihamäki tweeted.

– The guy is really doing the work, Finnish narrator Jani Alkio laughed.

The video shows how the official who was next to the track noticed the situation. However, the reaction came too late, as the photographer was only removed from the track after the runners had swept past.

There were enough events in the competition anyway. In the last round, Ethiopia was in second place Hailemariam Amare tripped over a barrier on the back straight and lost his medal seam.

Enough has happened and happened in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the World Championships in Eugene. On Sunday, in the heats of the women’s hurdles in Germany Lea Meyer tripped and dived headfirst into the water barrier.

Meyer was not injured in the situation.

Raitase would have been enough

Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali won the men’s 3,000m steeplechase world championship with a time of 8:25.13.

The silver went to Ethiopia To Lamecha Girma (8.26,01). of Kenya Consul Kipruto took the WC bronze (8.27.92).

The pace was not fast in the race, as El Bakkal’s best time of the world season is 7:58.28. Girma has also run the 3,000 hurdles in less than eight minutes this season.

Finland Top Raitanen was not involved in the World Cup final. He missed the qualification and said he suffered from stomach problems.

Raitanen’s time would certainly have been hard currency in the final. The Finn’s record was 8:16.57 two seasons ago. This season, the highest quote is 8.19.34.

Raitanen has run slower than El Bakkal’s time this season only in the preliminaries of the World Championships in Eugene (8:43.01).
