The U19 of Borussia Dortmund has successfully started the new Youth League season. The team of coach Felix Hirschnagl, who followed Mike Tullberg in the summer, prevailed in the offspring of Juventus Turin with 3: 2 (3: 0).

After Mathis Albert (9th), Samuele Inácio (13th) and Pharell Kegni (35th) had given the black and yellow early, everything looked like a clear matter. After the change of sides, however, Juventus came back with two goals within five minutes: First Diego Pugno was successful (57th), then Francesco Crapisto scored the connection goal (61.). In the final phase, goalkeeper Julien Froese, who replaced the injured Aaron Held, became hero with many parades.

“The most dangerous was the half-time result. I also told the boys. It was clear that Juventus would change a little when it comes to 0: 3. Maybe we felt too safe. We had to endure and suffer. But we accepted the fight and invested a lot of passion,” said Hirschnagl after the final whistle and emphasized that it was his “biggest game” as a coach.
