Despite the sporting decline of the last few weeks, Borussia Dortmund has not yet made a move on the transfer market this winter. A BVB deal that is supposedly already well advanced could now collapse – for financial reasons, among other things.
As “Sky” reports, there is still no breakthrough regarding Renato Veiga. BVB would like to sign the 21-year-old Portuguese from Chelsea on loan. However, the negotiations with the Blues are still too far apart when it comes to the fee for such a deal.
BVB has so far offered between 2.5 and three million euros, but Chelsea is demanding five to six million euros, it is said.
BVB is said to already be in agreement with Veiga himself. What makes matters worse is that Juventus Turin has now apparently also gotten involved in poker.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that the Italian record champions are pushing for an agreement with the three-time Portugal international and are also in contact with Chelsea, also about a loan deal.
According to the Times, however, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is on Chelsea’s shopping list. There may be some kind of swap deal between the Serie A club and the fourth-placed team in the English Premier League.
That’s why Renato Veiga is so interesting for BVB
Veiga is so interesting for BVB because he can be used both on the left defensive side and in the center of defense. In both positions, Dortmund’s shoe has been pinched several times recently due to injuries.
The youngster already knows the Bundesliga: between January and summer 2023 he was loaned out to FC Augsburg by his former club Sporting. During this time he played 13 games for the Fuggerstadt team in the German upper house.
After a year-long stint at FC Basel in Switzerland, Veiga ended up at Chelsea FC last summer. The Londoners transferred 14 million euros to Basel for him.
