Burberry brings former Kering manager Klaus Bierbrauer to the management team

The British fashion group Burberry Group Plc has appointed Klaus Bierbrauer as Chief Supply Chain and Industrial Officer. The newcomer will take over the post with immediate effect and will be responsible for global supply chains and product development, the company announced on Tuesday. In his new role, Bierbrauer is now a member of the Group’s Executive Committee and reports directly to CEO Jonathan Akeroyd.

The industry veteran spent more than twenty years at the French luxury goods group Kering, where he held various management positions at fashion brands Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, among others. Most recently, he worked in the group of companies as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Alexander McQueen label.

Bierbrauer’s new manager Jonathan Akeroyd explained the personnel decision: “Klaus has a wealth of experience in the areas of supply chain and production,” he said in a statement. “Bringing our supply chain and product development teams together under his leadership will ensure closer connectivity while ensuring overarching leadership of the entire supply process.”
