Bundesliga promoted team SV Elversberg has exercised the agreed purchase option on Lukasz Poreba and has signed the midfielder permanently from Hamburger SV. The amount of the transfer is reportedly around 1.6 million euros. The 26-year-old, who was on loan from the Rothosen last season, will stay under the Kaiserlinde for three more years until the summer of 2029, the Saarlanders announced.

Poreba had established itself as a permanent fixture in the Elversberg promotion team last year. The central midfielder was used in all 34 second division games, contributed four scorers and was on the pitch for SVE from the start of the third matchday. At HSV, the Pole’s working paper, whose market value at SVE rose from 1 to 2.5 million euros, would have been dated until 2027. Poreba is the newcomer’s first permanent transfer for the new season.

“We are very pleased that Lukasz will continue to be an integral part of our team. He showed last season how valuable he is for the team. With his qualities when playing against the ball, his game intelligence and his outstanding mentality, he played a major role in our success. In addition, he has also fit in excellently as a person and fits perfectly with the values of our club,” explained SVE sports director Christian Weber.

Poreba himself said about his move: “The last year in Elversberg was special for me in all respects. With promotion to the Bundesliga, we achieved something historic together, but I also felt a lot of trust here and felt very comfortable right from the start. It feels right to continue on the path together and now tackle the upcoming challenges in the 1st Bundesliga.”
