The Bundesliga’s sixth in the table separated from his trainer prematurely. For Marco Rose, the time in Leipzig is over.
The 0: 1 defeat against Gladbach on Saturday was too much in the end: RB Leipzig separated from coach Marco Rose-and thus reacted to the dissatisfied results. The club announced this on its website and announced that the 48-year-old is “released from his tasks with immediate effect”.
His assistant coach Alexander Zickler, Marco Kurth and Frank Geeckeck as well as Frank Aehlig (Head of License Player) are also exempted. Sports Managing Director Marcel Schäfer explains: “We believed in the constellation with Marco and his team for a very long time and tried to create the trend reversal together until the end.”
Then Schäfer confesses: “In view of the development and the lack of results, however, we are firmly convinced that we need a new impulse for the remaining games to achieve our season goals. We would like to thank Marco and his coaching team for the last two and a half years, the common success and commitment to our club.” Rose himself did not have his say in the club announcement.
Anyone who trains the team until the end of the season is not yet clear. However, the Saxons announced that they wanted to “say” this “shortly”.
In the past eleven league portics, the Saxons only reach two victories against FC St. Pauli (2-0) and against Borussia Dortmund (2-0). In addition, Leipzig had to accept defeats against Gladbach and Mainz (1: 2). Overall, the team lost seven times this season. In the DFB Cup, the team continued one round after a narrow 1-0 win against Wolfsburg and is in the semi-finals.
