Debutant

Belgium went with an experienced team to Raeford in North Carolina, but also brought a debutant. The 21-year-old Ray Lodens from Heist completed his military training in February last year and was already faced with a nice first World Cup.

However, the competition was not less. Host country vs joined three world champions and France and Italy, among others, already achieved medals on previous editions. The first day our countrymen – with the Ledegemse Jeroen Nollet (38) – finished in second place after an impressive fourth round and the second best score. Only the French scored even better.

On day two, Hayabusa had a relapse, but thanks to a strong eighth and tenth round, Belgium still won the bronze due to a firm final sprint. In the final round they delivered a strong performance with a top score. The gold was for France, the United States won silver.
