A high-pressure gas pipe was damaged during construction work in the Baumschulenweg district of Treptow-Köpenick.

The fire department said a exclusion zone had been set up due to escaping gas. In addition, the Köpenicker Landstrasse at the corner of Marggraffbrücke was completely closed.

According to a spokesman for the Berlin-Brandenburg network company, an excavator damaged the line during construction work on a bridge on Wednesday afternoon. Employees are on site to assess and repair the damage.

According to the information, there is currently no danger to residents.
