Crazy, crazier, craziest: Gerrit-Jan put two Brabant icons on his body

Gerrit-Jan proudly shows off his tattoos. Frans Bauer’s face is on his right arm. On his calf is Rob Kemps of the Snollebollekes. It is extra striking that Gerrit-Jan comes from Harderwijk, but he just follows his feelings.

There are many Brabant residents with a Brabant image on their bodies, but even outside our province there appears to be a great love for Brabant. For example, Charlotte from Hilversum walks around with Guus Meeuwis on her arm, but Gerrit-Jan goes a little further. On his right arm we see the face of Frans Bauer with the name of one of his albums. He had it installed six years ago. “When I feel bad, I put on his music and I can laugh again,” Gerrit-Jan explains. “He means a lot to me.”

But Gerrit-Jan still has an idol. Rob Kemps can be seen smiling broadly on one of his calves. With a brand new signature. “I was recently at the Total Loss festival with my son and my wife. At one point I saw Rob Kemps standing at a souvenir stall. So I ran over and asked him for an autograph.”

“These are my biggest two idols.”

The Snollebollekes singer did not have much time to talk, but according to Gerrit-Jan he was impressed and immediately signed it. “I jumped for joy. Of course, I also had to have that signature on my leg, so a few days later I was back in the tattoo parlor.”

There is still plenty of room for a tattoo of John de Bever, Jan Biggel or Corry Konings. But that’s where Gerrit-Jan fits the bill. “These are my biggest two idols. So this was it.”
