British House of Lords requests postponement of the Rwanda deal: wants guarantees that the country is safe for deportation of migrants

The British House of Lords approved a motion on Monday calling on the British government not to implement the Rwanda deal yet, because it has not yet been proven that Rwanda is indeed a safe country. The so-called ‘House of Lords’ does not have the power to block legislation, but in any case this is a new setback for British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
