Brentford’s Kevin Schade separates from agent Maik Barthel

“Don’t share ideas”

The three-time national player Kevin Schade has separated from his advisor Maik Barthel. According to consistent reports, the reason for the decision is apparently statements made by the agent on the social network “X” (formerly Twitter) about the hiring of Marie-Louise Eta as an assistant trainer at Union Berlin. “That’s right, I separated from my advisor because I absolutely don’t share his attitude and his ideas and I can’t let them stand for myself either. I stand for openness, equality and diversity and that’s how I want to feel represented,” explained Schade on the TV station “Sky“.

Barthel, owner of Eurosportsmanagement GmbH, which also represents Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier, among others, once also advised Robert Lewandowski. At “X” after Etas was hired at Union, according to “Picture“-Newspaper announces: “An assistant coach has to go into the team’s dressing room sometimes? Please don’t expose German football to ridicule. It’s enough to completely destroy the team hierarchy with the transfers. There’s no need for other stories right now.”

This statement subsequently caused a lot of discussion; later Barthel apparently deleted the tweet and re-wrote it: “I have to rephrase it. Making an assistant coach an issue will not help Union repair the destroyed team hierarchy.”
