From coach for standards to the boss: The English Premier League club FC Brentford has promoted the Irish Keith Andrews to the new team manager.

The 44-year-old succeeds Dänen Thomas Frank at the club of German attacker Kevin Schade, who has switched to London City Rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

For Andrews it is the first post as head coach. Until November 2023, he had worked as an assistant to Stephen Kenny for the Irish national team. In June 2024, he had landed as a coach for standard situations in Brentford.

Brentford has been playing in the Premier League since 2021, and the club had ranked tenth last season.
