The demonstrators, who learned about the hotel where the Iranian National Football Team, which came to Los Angeles, would camp, protested the team with the US and Israeli flags, as well as Iran’s old flag with a lion and a sun.
The demonstrators, who were supporters of Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who chanted “terrorist” slogans against the Iranian National Football Team, then argued with pro-Iranian supporters who came in front of the hotel.
Protesters were prevented from confronting each other in front of the hotel, where US security forces took intense precautions.
The bus carrying the Iran National Football Team, which was leaving the hotel for its first training in Los Angeles, passed through the protesters.
The World Cup match between Iran and New Zealand will be played tomorrow at 04.00 GMT.
