Before the start of the Olympic season, a German experiences a bitter start. But he does not lose his humor.

Bad news for the German speed team in alpine skiing: Departure drivers Luis Vogt will not be available at the start of the new season. The 23-year-old injured his shoulder during training in Chile and had to be operated on.

As Vogt himself announced on Instagram, he suffered the injury in a training fall. “PS: Do not cross your skis at 120 km/h,” he also took his training accident with a pinch of humor.

Vogt was considered one of the great hopes of the DSV in the fast disciplines. Already at the Ski World Championship in February in Saalbach, he had fallen heavily in the Super-G, but got off lightly at the time.

The Alpine World Cup season traditionally begins at the end of October in Sölden, Austria. The Speed drivers start the winter in the American Copper Mountain at the end of November-there is a Super-G in the World Cup calendar for the first time.
